Paycheck Protection Program: Strategies for Forgiveness

What are the next steps for companies that received a PPP loan? And, will there be more federal funding to assist those impacted by COVID-19?

The Paycheck Protection Program, part of the original CARES Act, provided many small businesses with the resources needed to maintain payroll, hire back employees who may have been laid off and cover applicable overhead. Those who received a PPP loan in the first round are curious about repayment, forgiveness and any changes to the plan; while we’re all wondering about what will be included in a possible second round of federal funding and incentives.

To submit a specific question prior to the webinar, email dmurphy@bx.org.

2 - 50 Employees? It’s Time to Review Your Health Insurance Options

Health insurance coverage continues to be a significant benefit when onboarding new and retaining current employees. To help smaller employers - those with 2 to 50 employees - with the costs of offering such an important benefit to their employees, the BX has joined the Southern Ohio Chamber Alliance (SOCA) Benefit Plan. This self-funded medical offering is known as a Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA).

Join Kelly Newsom and Vince Sowell (Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield) and Dean Stitz (McGohan Brabender) virtually as they discuss the benefits and services of the BX MEWA.

Their presentation will address:

  • The basic benefits of the MEWA
  • Choice of plans, from industry-leading consumer-driven health plans to PPO plans
  • The major discounts obtained by ‘stacking’ benefits
  • Administrative benefits of working with one carrier
  • How to receive the most accurate quote
