401k Retirement Program

The Retirement Solutions 401(k) Pooled Employer Plan

A Pooled Employer Plan (PEP) is a new kind of retirement plan that’s like a traditional 401(k) but enables employers of all sizes to join together for potential efficiency and cost savings.

Three reasons to consider a PEP:

  • Lower cost: Costs are spread across a larger participant and asset base, typically reducing the costs for each employer in the plan. Participating employers may also have more access to institutional class mutual fund shares.
  • Less fiduciary responsibility: Along with your financial advisor, the pooled plan provider (PPP) handles most of the fiduciary duties.
  • Less time and effort: The PPP also handles much of the administration—including eligibility, beneficiary tracking, and plan disbursements.

Managed Care Organization

Sedgwick Managed Care Ohio is BX’s workers’ compensation MCO partner to help members organize claims, control costs and maximize premium savings options. Your MCO plays an essential role with you and your injured employees for:

  • Injury Reporting – claims are filed through your MCO. Establishing a quick and accurate injury reporting process with your MCO will accelerate the claim process and minimize delays in treatment.
  • Treatment Oversight – your MCO monitors medical treatment to ensure it is applicable to the work-related injury and is oriented toward a productive recovery and return to the workplace. Efficient return-to-work is the primary goal of our MCO.
  • Medical Billing – the MCO is responsible for processing, re-pricing and payment of medical bills for treatment of workers’ compensation injuries.

Whether your company is large or small, the BX provides options. Through your BX Membership, companies have access to two plans:

  • A Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA)
    A self-funded MEWA for BX members with 2 to 50 full-time eligible employees, powered by SOCA.

    The Builders Exchange of Central Ohio partnered with the Southern Ohio Chamber Alliance (SOCA) to offer small employers – those with 2 to 50 employees – access to a health insurance program called a Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA). This allows members to pool together to create buying power in order to purchase more affordable health insurance as one large group.

  • The Alliance Saver Program
    Group health plan administered by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield for employers with 50 or more full-time eligible employees.

    For larger companies – those with 50 or more employees – the Alliance Saver Program can have a significant impact for employers offering health insurance benefits. The Alliance Saver Program allows for premium savings through Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of 1%, but by adding ancillary programs such as dental, vision, life and disability options, members can potentially save up to 5%.
